Packaging value chain calls on EU to protect the Single Market to deliver on the Green Deal and circular economy objectives
September 2020:UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe – together with 58 other stakeholders from across the packaging supply chain have co-signed a joint statement calling upon the Commission and Member States to protect the integrity of the Single Market for packaging and packaged goods.
The signatories make the case that protecting the EU single market and the free movement of goods will be essential to stimulate the investments and product innovations needed to transition to a circular economy. They call on Member States to protect the Single Market when transposing EU law and to notify their draft national legislation to the Commission, in compliance with EU rules.
